I'm looking at purchasing an 07-10 ML63, but most don't have a tow hitch. Are there any aftermarket options available with the electrical connections? If not, how much would it cost for a dealer to do it?

I researched this extensively about a year ago. There are aftermarket hitch options available, but only rated at 3500 pounds. If you want the full tow rating of 7200 pounds, you need the factory hitch installed, which is expensive and involved... the hitch is bolted to the frame, the bumper needs cutouts (or replacement) for clearance, and a control module needs reprogramming. Total cost was upwards of $2000, depending on where done and how clean you wanted install (correct bumper or just cutout existing bumper).

Yeah, that's what I'm getting from my search. Do you happen to know why the 2007 ML63 has a tow rating of 5000 lbs, but the 2008+ has a 7200 lbs tow rating? I can't seem to find the answer to that.

Anyone install an aftermarket? The link above is broken. I'm considering a 2009 ML63 and I need it mainly for towing a pair of jet skis. With trailer and gas, total weight will probably be right at 2000lbs, so I don't need the OEM setup for 2 grand. Hoping for something in the $500 or less range. I don't find any compatible matches for the AMG / air suspension model searching a few sites and google.
