comfort mode vs sport mode vs manual

I Drive a 2011 ml63 and I just recently just bought it.
can someone tell me the big difference btw the 3 and is manual mode better then sport? also when im on C mode and im at the light I full throttle the car it seems to bog but when im on S and M mode it doesn't bog? I hope nothing is wrong with my truck.

yes thank you! but can you explain to me why does it bog out when I put my peddle to the metal on C mode off the line? also it feels like M mode is faster then S mode or am I just tripping out? when I am on M mode launching off the line my command screen on my dash lights up red what does that mean?

Might need to get it on Star, mine takes of in C and even more violent in S and M on the paddles no problems at all.
