"New dynamic handling control system: cornering without rolling

Active roll stabilisation in the form of the ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM can be optionally combined with both the AIRMATIC air suspension with Adaptive Damping System (ADS) and the ON&OFFROAD package."

Doesn't make sense as it is a perfect combination to allow more suspension travel off road. Any insight, YYZ?

A knowledgable dealer on another foum estimates the first customer cars won't be seen until mid/late September. Dealer vehicles will be produced first and stockpiled for release. Also, Lighting and Pano will continue to be in very short supply.

I'm now reconsidering whether to stick with my '12 order. The color MDF and Distronic would be nice, but I just don't know how much longer I can keep waiting.

Thanks Greg. I think I'll stick to my 2012 order then. Gonna miss the color mfd for sure, but can't wait till mid Sep.
My current build dt is jun 1st with lighting. Hope its a little ahead of schedule like a few others have mentioned!

There's no restriction from Daimler with respect to combining ACS with the OFF-ROAD package. You should be able to build a 350 gas with those options as per the factory; MBUSA's internal policies may differ.

BTW, just verified you can not get Brown Satin Ash with the Sport Interior on '12s. Changed my order.

It's only available as part of the $2,950 Driver Assistance Package; it will be standard feature for 2013.

Wow... I didn't know that! That means the base price would definitely go up.

No, collision prevention assist will be a standard feature. Distronic Plus will still be an option as part of the driver's assistance package, per those PDFs you uploaded.

I was told CPA was a relabel of Distronic. If not, then what is it?

Basically, CPA includes the PRE-SAFE BRAKE and Active Brake Assist functionality that was formerly only available with DISTRONIC PLUS. You are not getting the DISTRONIC active cruise control functionality as part of CPA.

Collision Prevention Assist puts the Distronic radar behind the grille (along with the Distronic grille) but all it does is brake your car in cases of emergency where you're about to rear end the car in front of you. You will not have the autonomous cruise functions with CPA which is still an option (and also at the same price according to your PDFs). I find the cost part sort of annoying because you're getting the sensor which is the most expensive piece of equipment, but you don't have the auto cruise function.

The first car that CPA is standard on is the new B Class in Europe. If you do a configurator on the UK MB website you'll see CPA as standard but Distronic Plus as a standalone option.

The forthcoming GL will be the first car in the USA to have CPA standard.

So, you're saying MY13 GL production starts before ML?

Question ML MY2013 350 gasser- HP???

Hi,
MotorTrend article states 2013 E class 350 gasser will be enhanced to 333 HP, see quote below:

" The 3.5-liter V-6 in the E350 will increase power from 302 to 333 hp, which should advance that car to the head of the pack...
Read more: http://wot.motortrend.com/refreshed-...#ixzz1sJVWRJNJ "

Anybody hear anything on the 2013 ML??? If 350 gasser is going to be 333 HP on the E, wouldn't you think it would be on the ML.....

For those on the fence between 2012 and 2013, this might be an important factor!!!

I re-read Greg's 2013 build sheet but no mention of engine specs that I could find.
Come on ML sleuths----inquiring minds want to know

Bob in MN
P.S. Local dealer has a 2012 E Wagon (finally). Going out to test drive the wagon and ML -probably BlueTec??

Good question - that would be an enticement to wait. My guess is that the E gets it because of its higher price point and the ML already went from 268 to 302 for 2012.

Motor Trend is incorrect. MY13 E-Class sedan stays the same (no facelift, no engines except the HYBRID). Facelift is MY14.

I'll see if my dealer knows in about 2 hours.
But---I will bet he doesn't even know about the 2013 ML build sheet that you posted...... ????

It appears MT used the combined power for the 2013 E400 hybrid (306 + 27). Typical Motor Trend; it's one of the car mags I make a point not to bother with.

Sorry I should clarify. I meant to say the GL is the first all new car from MB to have this feature standard. As to which MY13 comes out first I have no clue.
