Any new info on on & off road package?
I know the basics, but am wondering if anyone has specific info on the package contents? Specifically the two speed transfer case. I ask because in this article by inside line from the new ML launch they claim it will NOT be included:
http://www.insideline.com/mercedes-b...rst-drive.html
"Come November, you'll be able to get an off-road package on both the gasoline ML350 and the ML350 Bluetec. In U.S. specification, it won't include low-range gearing, but will have a multi-terrain system that tailors drivetrain and suspension behavior to selected conditions as on the Jeep Grand Cherokee."
So, is It worth it for just the software and underbody cladding?
M
Ps I was at a dealer last week and new pricing from May shows the price has gone up to $3500 for the package.

X350d GLE500e 2017, ML350 BlueTec 2012(sold), A200 2013, ML350CDI 2009(sold), Aston Martin DB7 2003
That report was written in July 2011, and maybe the writer was a little confused.
He may have been thinking of the "off road driving switch" which is standard here on the ML350 & ML550, but not available on the ML250 even as an option. This button tightens the gearshift & ETC functions. It was standard on the W164.
The Onoffroad package does include dual range transfer! It also has various other settings that supercede that off road switch.
