Pano Roof operation (tilting?)

Anyone knows if the front part of the Panoramic Sunroof tilts like the regular sunroof?
Planning to include it in my next order and tilting is a must.
Thanks.

You should know that the pano roof will tilt open, but you cannot have the sunshade closed at the same time. I understand that this is a popular move to allow the vehicle to vent while parked in hot, dry climates.

True, as clearly stated in the manual excerpt I attached. Seems like the control protocol could allow it if the vehicle is turned off.

If I had known you can't tilt up with the shade closed I would not have ordered the pano roof. In my last 4 or 5 vehicles you could do so and I very often would tilt to vent but left the vented shade closed to keep the sun out. Very irritating I can no longer do so with the pano roof.

I only found out after I bought my car that you can only tilt it with the shade open. Kind of ironic that in warm weather with the sun out you want to tilt it open but can't keep the shade closed to prevent the sun from shining directly on the seats.

Come on folks even my VW sunroof reflects basically all heat away from my interior. Does MB not put a coating on their sunroofs? I doubt the shade does a thing to shield much heat. So Im puzzelled by the operation indeed. Only time I would what the roof tilted and shade closed is when parked and I hear it does that. Why a sunroof especially a panoramic if closing the shade when driving???? kind of like open window and blinds on a house :o)

You cannot have the shade closed and the pano roof tilted open. Parked, driving, stopped at a red light staring off into the distance... it doesn't matter. Shade closed = roof closed.

As I understand it, you cannot have the shade closed and sunroof tilted even when parked. As an architect, I know one the radiation has come through the glass and hit the shade, it is reradiated in to the interior; however, the shade would keep surfaces like seats from getting warmed directly by solar radiation. How much ventilation could be achieved through the shade fabric, though, if you could have the glass tilted while the shade closed?

Want to explain your reason(s) why? You said you required the tilting feature and it does have that, so what made you change your mind?

As stated above, you cannot tilt with shade closed even if parked. I don't like sun on my head (6'3" and the top of my head is not far from the glass) and I do think the sun heats up the interior despite any coatings on the glass. I also don't like glare that comes in on sunny days.

I do like driving with the shade open on cloudy days as the light is nice.

I dont want it if I cant tilt the sunroof to ventilate the interior with the shade closed.
