ML 350BTC Oil Change Question

I understand that the new OM642 engines no longer have a dip stick. Does this mean that it is no longer possible to change the oil by using vacuum evacuation through the dip stick tube?

Is there any access to use vacuum evacuation to remove the old oil, or is it necessary to use the drain plug on the bottom of the engine? Vacuum evacuation from up top is sooooo clean and convenient.

Curious.

My MB dealer salesman was apparently wrong when he told me that they no longer have a dip stick. The owners manual very definitely mentions using the dip stick to check oil level, so there must be one there.

Can any BT owners confirm this?

Don't know about 2014, but my 2013 has a dip stick and that is how I evacuated the oil.

Yup, although it would appear that the gasoline and diesel engine pictures are reversed in the manual.

My 2014 bluetec has a dipstick. Just checked the oil two days ago.
