Did it again at the same place..now that I know it does it at the same location I'll be prepared and take a closer note as to what's there...and again the green car icon came on and there was no vehicle in front for the radar to follow..there must be a terrestrial force there..dunno but I'm getting closer to the answer

Do you have a waypoint set in your nav at that location where it "bongs"? Maybe you created a waypoint accidentally at some point? Refer to your Command manual on how to view waypoints.

No. Nav is always running in the background - even when not on the display

Well that being the case I'd say you're very likely correct..I'll clear any stored waypoints (none set on purpose) and will test her out...

I get that Bong noise too. I've heard it while sitting in the driveway and it occurs basically when it feels like it. I didn't hear it for 1500+ klics, then it went bong. Something lights up for a nanosecond on the speedo, but I can only see it on the peripheral. Naturally, it never occurs when I'm looking at the gauges.
If only I could ignore it, but soooo.. random. Yechhh!

I wish the NAV unit would generate a tone whenever a window pops up on screen informing of Traffic and an alternate/revised route suggestion. Ofentimes it pops up and I don't see it intil its too late.
