Oil Change 2014 ML 350 BlueTEC
Has anyone changed the oil on the 2014 ML 350 BlueTEC using the WIS recommended vacuum method to remove the old oil?
When I did this, I was only able to remove about 5 liters. Another 2014 owner just emailed me that he had the same problem, but never did previously on his 2013.
Has anyone successfully vacuumed the entire 8-8.5 liters of old oil out of their 2014 ML350 BlueTEC? If yes, how did you do it? TIA!

Dutch, I do not have your answer but am interested in this "WIS recommended vacuum method". Does it involve putting a tube down the dipstick pipe until it stops or do you attach the vacuum to the end of the dipstick tube?

I shoved a tube down until it stopped; and the length of the tube in was longer than the dipstick.

I had same problem with a Mitivac 7201. What a mess. Also the oil filter leaked big time when driving, O ring was not seated properly. I had it on the top of filter cap, not in the groove. Was o k until I stated to drive. No access to drain plug on engine

There are other oils readily available that run approx $7 quart. Valvoline, Kendall and others. I have a stock of Mobil 1 5w-40 but I will likely try a 5w-30 in the future.

I've changed the oil both using the dipstick and from underneath. Drained same amount of oil using both methods. Enough clearance to slide under and not have to use jackatands. The panels come off easily. Be sure to replace the o-ring on the filter cap. Do a search on the board here to find the reset procedure.

ML350 BT soon......pleeeease. GOT IT NOW....Wooooo
Come on guys......8 little screws to get the plastic off and then take the drain plug out.......its easier than making a chocolate cake so if it's too hard for you, then get your wife to do it.

Why design something like this? What is the purpose of this cover? Easy to slide under? Should be access panel for drain plug. Have you guys ever worked on heavy equipment or farm tractors? Pickups?
