13' ML550 Dyno

I had my 13' ML550 with 26k miles dynoed as a baseline before I have the ECU tuned. It put down 363HP/405lb ft of torque to the wheels. 20-22% loss through the drivetrain puts it at approx 435HP and 485lb ft of torque. I have the On/off road package so I don't know if my transfer case drains any more power than the standard 4matic. Regardless, well under MB's 403/443 rating. It's really a sin that this engine is being dropped from the ML in the US market. The ML63 is great but useless to me because I take my ML off road. The 3.0 V6TT in the ML400 sounds like a great engine and a perfect replacement for the 3.5 V6 that is underpowered compared to Bmw's I6T and audi's supercharged 3.0V6 but it's a poor substitute for the 4.7TT.

Great, thanks for sharing that with us. In my country we call it ML500 and we get 408hp, I'm not sure how much to the wheels but I will dyno soon and find out.

I believe these results with the renntech mufflers only?

It's stock besides the Renntech sport mufflers. I love how they sound but didn't notice any performance gain, wasn't expecting any though... I'll post my next dyno after my ECU tune. I was planning on doing the Renntech tune but wasn't happy with their customer service and after hearing of other customers on the forum with the same issues I think I'll pass on them. The performance shop that I had the dyno done at is well known and modifies porches, lamborghinis, R8's, mclarens etc so I'm going to trust them.

lucky you. Sadly, the closest shop that does the ECU tune is about 800 miles far, and I can't risk it pulling out the ECU and send it to them plus its really expensive. I found a tuning box from CKS that you can plug somewhere in the engine compartment which boosts around 55hp. I dont know how it works but the price is not bad. Check it out

The good thing is that its Plug&Play. I would love to see if anyone has tried it before, currently this is the only option I have.

Make sure you do some research on it. The companies that I have looked into all needed the ECU in hand to do the tune. My tuner today hooked into the OBD port with his computer and also said that he needed to remove the ECU to do the tune.

I'm fairly certain MB power claim is rated at the flywheel so you're actually putting out more than their rating which usually are conservative..and could vary depending on the dyno..
My dealings with Renntech have been excellent...call George

Mine: 2014 E550 4matic; Hers: 2016 CLS 400 4matic
Those are some good numbers for the V8.
