Enable Video In Motion

I know I'm a n00b here, but I did search the forum for this and did not find any results. Anyway, can someone tell me how to enable the video in motion playback for dvd's while driving? Spare me the it's illegal in most states/it's dangerous/etc...it's for passengers, not me.

There isn't a way to bypass it in engineering mode?

It appears that one can unlock it without hardware also. Look at http://dvdinmotion.com/

Jimmy - I'm sorry you've gotten rude and arrogant comments

This is an amazing new development, I can't believe software like this has actually been developed. This unlock will also remove all limitations, including entry of destination and internet browser use while driving.

Anyone else here use this and have success with it?

Yeah Jimmy, because as long time contributors, you and neschultz should have to suffer when valuable posters challenge your entitled attitude.

I used DVDinMotion on my 2013 w204 C350 with NTG4.5 and it works flawlessly.
No need to mess around with cables, hardware or taking the radio off and buttons to activate.

I love it !!!

Does your NAV still works with DVDInMotion? I'm told that it makes the car think it's stopped so GPS may not work, can you confirm?

What I need it to do
- Be able to input destination while in motion
- Play DVD (for passenger, audio for me) while in motion
- Is there a way to play video off an iPod or SD card?

Thanks

I tried the DVDInMotion yesterday on my 2014 E 63s. I needed to take some screen shots of the engineering screens for them to make the application because the of the new MY. I can confirm that my Nav is no longer working. It is stuck on a screen asking for update disk #1, which I don't have. Lucie at DVDInMotion is helping me work through the issues. Lucie is very responsive. But, it is the pits having to deal with this. I understand that this application works great in earlier MYs and on BMWs. I would suggest if you considering this application for a 2014, that you wait for the fix. I will report back as soon as I get resolution or not.

Dumfounded? Why?

I have owned 6-7 vehicles with GPS/Navigation and NONE, off the shopwroom floor, will allow these inputs while driving. My Lexus, Porshe and Benz all were the same.

My 2010 and 2008 ML's allow me to do anything navigation related while flying down the highway. Just double checked them.

My 2014 makes me pull over....

I prefer to do things on the fly rather than pull over in traffic to come up with a plan

Have you received any updates? I contacted DVD in. Motion and Lucie reports there is no such problem, I would really like to purchase the SW, but I need GPS.

Please update.

It might work on your 2013 car. But my NAV is still frozen. I have an appointment for my 2000 mile rear differential oil change today and the dealer ordered some new disks. I have my fingers crossed. Lucie said that many command units are just bad. That might be the case for me. But, it was working flawlessly for the month prior to installing this software.

I got the impression they were doing some R&D on my car. Nevertheless, it has worked for others. If you try it and it works for you please let me know. Splab

I know I'm reviving an old thread.. but does DVDinMotion still work well for anyone that has it? I would like video in motion for my 2016 GLE and didn't know this was a solution. Thanks!
