Let's talk about the bull bars for Mercedes
So, guys, let's talk about the bull bars first. The importance of a bull bar depends on the type of trips you often take. Actually, bull bars have little to do with bulls but they have a lot to do with other animals, specifically deer. 2.5" polished stainless steel sport bar by SteelCraft is manufactured to enhance your safety and minimize the damage your Mercedes ML350 / ML550 2012-2014 may suffer. Plus, it also may be useful, if you do not want your new bumper to be scratched while parking.

I have been in a vehicle that hit a deer. We were going 65-70 mph. The whole front end of the vehicle was demolished/totaled
The bull bars would do nothing what so ever. Two other family members died when they hit a deer and the deer went through the front windshield and out the back windshield killing both of them.
I think the bull bars are mostly a cosmetic thing.
Just my opinion

It doesn't really look right on a luxury cross over. Perhaps on a G-wagon. Depending on how they attach, they can actually cause MORE damage to the vehicle in a minor impact because the force of the impact is transferred directly to the structure of the vehicle circumventing the impact absorbing bumper system.

They do. And anyway, dont put some on a ML or GLE. Just not the right car to have some, and as other stated, in case of minor shock there is an increased risk for the car as there is no dampening behind these. Steel will have to be bent, either the bull bar itself, or the structure it attaches to.

Actually, the item on the pictures has been discontinued. Yet, we have several pretty nice options to fit on your ML350, follow the link to check them out: https://www.carid.com/2014-mercedes-m-class-bull-bars/
Please note that the installation will interfere with Parking Sensors, Proximity Sensors, Forward Facing Laser Brake and Cruise Control Sensors.
