How to use key FOB to open/close windows

Hey all,
I don't understand how to use the key FOB to open/close the windows.

If I am about 5 feet away from the car and unlock and keep the button pressed, it will unlock and open the windows. If I lock, and keep pressed, it will close the windows.

however, if I am like 20 feet away, it will only unlock/lock the doors, and will not open/close the windows respectively.

is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

thanks

The lock/unlock works by radio waves which travel pretty good distances. For some stupid reason, the window feature uses infa red LED light shource is very limited. Be sure the key tip is pointed directly at the drivers door handle at about arms distance.
