Front license plate

Here in Colorado we are required to have a front license plate. Currently there is no front plate holder but I have the OEM license plate holder that screws to the front. Not really wanting to attach it into the chrome.

I came across this….To (for a lack of a better term) rice?

Not really feeling it.

I have something similar on my 350z that attaches to the tow hook so it looks factory because its centered. I got it because I didn't want to drill into my front bumper. It looks great on that car but I wouldn't do it to my ML400, especially on that angle/side mount.

I just moved to Texas and when my tags are expired and I have to get TX tags I am getting this for my ML

A nice clean alternative to the tow hook mount.

The Hide a Plate is cool - but I won't be in any car shows soon.

…and the tow hook mount would mess with one of the front bumper sensors.

I think I figured it out. I read from another member that they mounted it low with longer bolts/nuts and larger washers through the mesh. I think that's the way I'll go.

I don't like this.

So I think I'll figure out how to mount it lower. I think can make it work and not have it torn off in the winter months.

I should be able to get hardware between the mesh.

Well got it done and I think it looks really good and flows with the body line. I had to remove the lower front plastic cover to get my hand behind the lower mesh. There is just enough room to get your hand in there to put the bolts through the mesh grill. I have not paid for plates yet so I taped one on for an example.

Lower front plastic piece I took off. About 10 screws:
