Love your car! I just took my daughter to sunshine village in Banff, AB this past weekend as well in my new ML550. Had a great time with the ML Set on sport for the twisty stuff - then set it for comfort and elevated it for the last few miles of Unpaved approach. It was snowing heavily and the roads were treacherous, but the snow was epic!
I used the new Merc ski rack, and unfortunately the plastic locking cowlings on it Sproinged off on my way back to Calgary. No real harm done and the dealer fixed things for me....but due to a slight design quirck, you have to tighten them terribly until the cams click or else the cowlings will spring off.
How was the skiing? It was sure nice to drive back after a long ski day while getting a heated massage! What an amazing treat these cars are! Way more fun to drive than Escalades.

Snow was ok. Nothing special. It is snowing today tho. It should get better in the coming weeks. Nice pic BTW! Looks like a good size resort. Our condo is at Ski Granby Ranch. A fairly small resort (2-lifts) compared to the likes of Keystone or Vail but lift lines are about nonexistent! Another big plus is that it's ski-in/ski-out and half the price for lift tickets compared to the big resorts.
This is our place.

Beautiful condo and area. Sounds like a fun place. Banff Alberta is about an hour drive from Calgary. It has probably the two largest ski hills in North America. I have to say, I really like the ML550 as a new family ski machine. Seats 4 -5 very comfortably with all the necessary equipment in the hatch and on the ski rack. Not sure if the AMG is worth it, as I really don't think I'd make use of a lot more power.

I agree with you. I don't know what I would do with the AMG power. I've driven my friends 2013 Shelby Cobra (680hp) and I have to say WOW! I guess the AMG would be for bragging rights which is cool. But I do need to get somewhat good gas milage. I know we don't buy these type of cars for milage but I'm averaging 20-21 on the highway at 70-75mph - I drive 100 miles to work each day roundtrip. What I'v read is the AMG does 13-17. I like my "sleeper". When needed it can take the majority of cars. Plus I don't have people wanting to race me all the time as it's just a ML. Put that AMG badge on and things change I'm sure.
I probably should not immortalize this here - but just to let you know my Thule rack held on at 120!
