GLE350 4M or ML400

Hi everyone,

I am facing a dilemma. I am in the market for a new SUV and was looking at a new GLE350 4Matic. I built a minimum configuration with MSRP of about $61k. I saw people on the forum were able to negotiate to less than invoice price, so hopefully that's $56-58k depending on incentives. While doing research I found Internet deals on a new ML400 starting at $58k, which includes all the options I want + some extra options that come standard on 400 + a better engine. So, now I am at crossroads. Should I get the newest model with fewer options and weaker engine, or go for last year's ML400?

GLE 350 4MATIC
Biggest changes are the aesthetics and upgraded electronics. Does that ml400 have 4matic on it?(I assume so but you never know). That's another 2k if it's not standard. You';d really have to see them both in person, drive them, then decide. What extra options/standard options do you get in the ML400 that aren't in the GLE?

This is a dilemma many are soon to be facing. GLE is the new model but many already see it as a refreshed ML so doesn't seem to be as much hype & high pricing (ie: when newest C-class 1st came out $41k vehicle leasing for $600+/mo). So looking at regular deals on the GLE. That weighed against incentives and trunk money to get rid of remaining MY15 ML's still on dealer's lots.

A gaggle of MB's
Personally - in the 16 GLE350 I LOVE the selectable profiles + upgraded mBrace app features - drive both the GLE350 and the ML400 before you make your final decision ..

The ML's will have an inherently lower value, resale-wise.
If you plan to lease, it will not matter to you much. For purchase, the GLE for sure.
There are obviously some tech benefits to the GLE, but the 400 model has a much better engine and is typically better equipped (incl. leather).
Your GLE specs sound lightly optioned so the ML will feel nicer inside.

Re. Mbrace app will be nice but personally I find that I never use the iPhone app and the actual mbrace plus, apps, internet are so crappy that I can't imagine anyone spending the monthly fees. Worthless is a kind word for MB's offerings.
