Drivers Side Wiper Judder

2015 ML350: Anybody else's Drivers Side Wiper Judder across the windshield when early vertical? Is there any cure? Doesn't happen when washer fluid is sprayed... just in the rain. Every wipe.

I've had that in the past,(not with MB). I've used the Rainx film coating stuff (yellow bottle) with good success. Just make sure that when applying, glass is really clean.

No judder but I am going to replace my blades soon as I am starting to get a little noise from them after 3 1/2 years.

Love Rainx too and use it before any big road trip.

No more judder! Looked up the proper blades at Bosch.com & ordered the proper Bosch Icon Blades, and they are dead quiet.

The blades come with a black plastic cover attachment thingy that must be removed for the blades to slide into and lock into the tip of the wiper arm that isn't mentioned in the description or instructions. Installation is basically a snap.

Glad to hear the problem is resolved. I once had an '85 Volvo that didn't like anything but the OE wiper blades from the dealer. Ever since then, I've always changed the blades on all my cars at the start of each winter w/ OE blades. There's always dealers selling online for cheap.

There has always been a procedure in the WIS to adjust the wiper angle of attack to stop this. Dealers never read it. They require a special toolkit to measure and adjust. Of course the plant should get it right.

The text editor is crap on this board but I will do my best.

Windshield Wiper Arm Adjustment

• Aero wiper blades equipped on all lines
• Windshield Wiper Arm Adjustment Kit
– Countermeasure for wiper noises (shudder/squeak)
– Measure and adjust wiper blade angle to windshield
• Angle of attack at park position
• Angle of attack at direction change
– Applicable for all
– Service Tool Kit number ~ Model dependent
• Order put in to Germany

Sorry ~ some of the translation to English is not perfect.

WIS = Workshop Information System.

Caveat. The screen must be free of silicone & mineral deposits. Cane sugar Coke works well. US corn syrup Coke less so. It's the Phosphoric acid in Coke that cleans well.

EDIT: Blades must be good & coating not removed at fitment.
