Oil for DIY oil change 2013 ML350BT
Doing my first oil change but confused about the correct Mobil 1 to use.
This is a diesel living in NYC still in warrantee
I know the Mobil 1 ESP formula M 5W-40 is discontinued and now its Mobil 1 ESP X1 0w-30 (MB-Approval 229.52)
I've read that some dealership uses Mobil 1 Formula M 5w-40. Mobile site recommends ESP X1 0w-30
Not sure if I should buy into the ESP or stick to the 5w-40 grade for the diesel version. The user manual may not know the change in Mobil 1 formula.

Out Of Control!!
I think you confused yourself, as there are no 40 weight oils included in 229.52--If you want to follow the current spec,then use Mobile 1 ESP X1 0W-30 and get a Nathan's hotdog.
