Do i need to replace my fuel filter?

Hey guys, just got hold of a 2014 ML-350 with 60K miles on it. Have no idea what service it had done in the past. when i started it the other day, i realized it had some constant mild shaking, and the check engine light came on. Was able to read the code and it was code P0300 or random cylinder misfire. Took it to a local shop and was told by the mechanic that it needed a fuel filter change and new spark plugs, but i had read in the maintenance manual that the fuel filter should be changed when it reaches 150k miles, so i told him to only change the spark plugs. Got it back today and the shaking is almost completely gone. The issue is that it still shakes like every 2-3 minutes, it is very mild and i can only feel it when waiting in a traffic light and completely stopped, but it still concerns me. Do you guys think that a fuel filter change would solve it?or could it be anything else? again it only has 60k miles, ML-350 (not 4matic). Cheers!

Does your ML loses power driving up an incline, such as a bridge. Under load, fuel demand increases and a clogged fuel filter reduces the needed flow. Shaking at idle is not normally a symptom of a bad fuel filter. Fuel requirements at an idle or startup are low. Even a badly restricted filter can supply adequate fuel under low load conditions. You might want to bring your ML into the dealer or a certified Mercedes shop to troubleshoot the problem.

I agree. What troubleshooting did he do in order to determine the fuel filter was the problem? Does the local shop specialize in Mercedes or European cars?

Thanks for the input guys. The local mechanic suggested the fuel filter change out of experience i suppose. And it is a european shop not really a mercedes shop. However i have and update on the issue, last night went for a drive and wasnt able to feel any juddering at idle at all. Also drove it this morning and the juddering hasnt come back, it all feels normal. Heres to hoping it doesnt come back!

And regarding the loss of power when driving up a hill i really havent tested it on an incline, but as far as heavy loads concerns, i have accelerated it pretty hard to look for any juddering or loss of power, and everything seems to be ok.

Havent changed the air filter since just got it, also dont know if it had been changed before. At what mileage should the air filter be replaced? Anyways, the issue is still there, engine judders for about half a second, randomly. Ive noticed that it only happens on a cold start. Once i've driven it for about 15-30 minutes it totally goes away! Weird?

How to keep drl fog strip at full brightness during night?

Is there anyway to do this? Ive got a ml350 2014 and would like the drls to stay at full brightness even when the low beams automatically turn on. Anybody done this? Maybe a hidden menu?
