I recently bought a 2000 Mercedes Benz S500. The person who brought it to my attention said it is a Maybach but it doesn't look like it to me. There does seem to be more leg room in the back. But it lacks any "luxury" items apart from two fold-down vanity mirrors with lights and ashtrays / cigarette lighters that pop out of the doors. I plan on replacing the CD / navigation / phone unit with a modern after-market system with multi-disc in dash changer, navigation and bluetooth. I may also add in a back-up camera since the back-up lights are not bright enough currently to see through the rear window tint at night. I also want to upgrade the exterior lights to something brighter and I would like to swap out the Motorola Startac power cord for a micro-USB power cord in the center console (I just want that for power since the new entertainment system will have Bluetooth.). I am just not sure how to go about doing that yet. We will see. When the weather gets warm enough I am going to replace the side-view mirror turn signal lights and the rubber seals. I am also going to replace the center console compartment since the lid brackets are broken on the one it came with. I don't know if anything can be done about those tiny little cup holders. And I need to repair the suspension air leak. So for now I consider it a project car. Anyway I added pictures below. Thank you.
