found a 1975 mercedes 240d
Hello ladies and gentlemen, i have been looking for a older Mercedes Benz for sometime now I've found a few here and there. But they were way out of my price range or the bodies were to far gone for me to handle. Anyway i have found this 1975 Mercedes 240d for sale i did not go check it out yet. However from the pictures the body is in amazing shape the guy who is selling had also said that he checked for rust under the car and found nothing. so here is what the guy said who is selling the Mercedes.''it does not run i tried to get it running with just trying some fresh fuel and couldnt get it started. glow plugs get hot engine cranks nicely all lights work. im not very familiar with the mercedes engines cluster is only 5 digit says 36018 could be 136018 its a 4cyl 2.4 non turbo it is automatic no major rust this thing was garage kept its whole life.its getting clean fuel to the first filter but hardly anything after that. we found the fuel line that goes to the tank took it off and placed fresh fuel in another tank. it goes through a couple of filters and then the injection pump after that it goes to the nozzles. it wasnt getting anyfuel to the nozzles so there is an issue between that. a couple of the lines are rotted and dry. also there is a paper element filter to.'' Any help or guidence would be greatly appricated

the 1 could be a 2 or a 3. What did the owner tell you. Go to some local dealers with vin number and see if you can get true mileage over the course of 1975
