2007 S550 Telematics upgrade problem - AC won't turn off
Just got the Nav & Telematics updated. After the upgrade - AC won't turn off. Hit off button, stays off for few seconds then goes right back on. Anyone seen this?

I don't think I've tried it myself, perhaps I should double check, you mean the engine is running and then you just switch AC completely off? There are some safety related timers trying to prevent the windscreen from fogging but I thought this was more of air circulation.

Thanks for the response, Diesel Benz. Correct, engine is running, and it's not possible to use the AC "off" switch to turn off the air circulation. It goes off for a few seconds and it turns back on.
I guess one reason why some workshops claim the update is not possible. I have not heard of this issue and did not find any bulletins but I would expect some version coding issues because of the later SW needs guidance for features that are for later cars. Could be another control unit SW update too. Hopefully the workshop can find it easily.

This morning I tried to switch AC off when driving to work. I started with heating at automatic and then simply pressed the AC off (/REST) button. I kept on driving at least 5 minutes, probably less than 10 minutes before my windows started getting some fog (minus degrees outside, Celsius) where I pressed the button again to switch heating on.
I was suprised that even below freezing ambient temperature the system remained off.
My car has had the telematics update performed and AC off remains fully under user control even after the update (or at least after the update, I cannot remember if I ever tested it before the update).
I'll have a look if Star has some configuration options for this or if it is all under SCN coding.

Thanks, Diesel - I'll also tech with the shop foreman nearby to see if he can check it out if STS has some config options like you suggested. Let me know if you find anything.

The Front SAM was coded for Hybrid drive after it was programmed. Nobody even noticed the climate control was not right until I got into the car to drive it. Turns out the SAM needed some recoding after the software update.

Gotcha - do you know what type of re-programming was required to get the A/C to shut off correctly?
