Check out this rendering of the Mercedes S Class Convertible based on the Ocean Drive Concept. Should Mercedes produce this vehicle and is there a market for Luxury Sedan Convertible?

When I saw the Ocean Drive concept several years ago, I thought for sure I would go for it. Today, however, I guess Im just happy with my old SL and my new S550. That said, this would truly be a "halo" car and if MB really plans to give Rolls-Royce a run for their money, then I say yes, build it. Make it outrageously expensive and very exclusive. I would much prefer one than a Rolls Drop Head.

This vehicle is heading for production, but it is based off of the s class coupe rather than the sedan, which makes much more sense. There have been a number of spy shots showing it testing.

May look wierd to some people, but if it becomes available I'd get it. I don't really like the shape of the 2 door. If they made the S Class Sedan a 2 door convertible with the exact same shape, I'd get it.
