Navigation Entries and Video While In Motion

I've been looking at different solutions, both OBD and Harness solutions. Has anyone successfully bypassed theirs?

Gets difficult to use navigation by voice recognition when system does not understand. I find it more dangerous to pull over just to make entries. 9 months of use and enough is enough.

Waiting for updated developer DAS to arrive if it can alter North American defaults. The problem is it was only able to increase video cut-off speed on my 2007 W221, so I don't expect it to for W222.

I bought the VIM "video in motion" module from Mid City and it was a 20 min. install and works great. Hit 2 buttons on steering wheel and you can do anything you want . Watch movies, program the Nav.. all works as it should now.

29 posts so far and all saying the same thing. If you are not bimmerguru, you are advertising him at a surprisingly high post percentage.

Might be a good solution but pushing too much makes me walk away, not sure if others feel the same.

I bought the DVD In Motion software. Slick to install and deinstall in a minute. Looks like the Bimmerguru software solution but more $. Enables Nav and Video.

Hi - ordered the binnerguru solution for the video and it worked great, easy to do and nice service from the company. I have no affiliation with the company - just a satisfied customer.

Thanks for that feedback. Worth 100 times more than the 29 posts I read previously.

I'm not affiliated, I'm a happy customer and I sure as heck will advertise for them anywhere and any place I go. If you cared much about your fellow forum members you sure would guide them to the right solutions - Their service is on point, no BS

I don't know them, I don't know you, I just said (in my opinion) you do not make them a favour if your only action at the forum is to advertise them.

Not sure about others but I would walk away. We have so many hidden sales men at the forum who pretend to be ordinary members but are just advertising their products. Do you trust them?

You are free to do what you want but you would be much more successful if you did it like Rocketman. Look at his history at the forum and compare it to yours.

Diesel Benz, you are justified in being a skeptic...I am new to this site since this is my first Mercedes (2015 S550), however, you get a lot of good information from these treads. I have not tried this yet, but based on the reviews and the length of times of the reviewers. I am going with this item verses the one that you will have to plug something in. My last car was a 2011 750li and I got some information on "code my car" from the Bimmerfest site...best information I ever got. You have been on this site long enough to know whom the salesmen are and whom are not. Don't knock the good advise.

Based on this thread, I recently ordered the software from bimmerguru and installed it in under 60 seconds on my 2014 S63. It works wonderfully. I can now load 20+ movies on a USB drive and my kids can access them via COMAND on the rear entertainment system. I thought adding the Apple TV to the rear entertainment system was cool, but I think this is way cooler. In any case, this thread prompted me to stop browsing and "simply take information" from the excellent posts on this site and join and offer a comment that may (or may not) help others.

Great product. Have been using it to watch DVD's between CA and Arizona with the wife. I just pull into the slow late and cruse 80 and just keep my hand on the wheel. Its great.

Also allows for navigation inputs while driving.

Took about 10 mins to read the docs put it on a SD card and install it.

Will buy again.
