This car is a driver focused luxury vehicle. It will probably beat the S Class in the drivers focus. To beat the S Class as a luxury vehicle, it will have to go ahead of Rolls Royce, which then kind of ruins Rolls Royce.

I like. Not having to enter the garage to take the car out would be a great convenience. And a great party trick as well. This round goes to BMW.

+1. Not only a great party trick, but perhaps a way to avoid a ticket.

Let's just say you get pulled over in the middle of the night for an alleged traffic violation and this law enforcement officer has you outside the vehicle asking questions about how much you've had to drink. BMW has the solution! You discreetly slide the car remote out, have the car move 15 feet down the road (with no one inside) and then make sure to look directly at the officer (hopefully your eyes are not too glassy).

When he asks you if the car just moved, you look at him quizzically and say "ah, now who's had too much to drink, officer?"

Haha^. That feature is pretty awesome to me. I bet they sell some just because of that feature. Anyone super into gadgets will love that.

Now if the engines would last longer than 70k miles, that would be more valuable.

The 7 series currently undergoes a huge yet very quiet recall campaign. Every V8TT from 2009 to 2012 is being recalled and I believe that will move forward to the 2013 plus as well.

That picture is quite misleading. That appears to be the BMW Vision Luxury Concept, which is very different compared to the 7 Series Spyshots.

What all the recall entails? Free engine replacement?

If needed, yes. Common engine issues were carbon build-up, rough idle, high use of engine oil, stretched timing chains, engine failure due to plastic parts entering the engine (rare).

BMW calls this recall CCP (Customer Care Program) which is quite misleading. On Bimmerfest there are a fair number of unhappy customers as their cars are in the shop for 2-3 weeks but also as long as 2 months.

Ours had sensors, hoses and all injectors replaced (at 22k miles), plus full software update and battery. The timing chain is also part of the CCP and replaced if needed. That becomes a major engine job.

In all fairness I truly appreciate BMW finally dealing with this instead on denying issues existed.
