MF Buy rate for the Coupe?
If we get the European Delivery date for the AMG GTS confirmed, we'll get that car. Driving that car at 190mph+ in Germany and taking it to southern France would be great fun.
If not, I am still contemplating the practicality of the AWD of the S-Class coupe since we would use the car quite a bit in the winter as well.
AMG's typically have a lower residual and higher MF (plus no discount on Euro delivery), the regular S-Class & coupes are bargains compared to it.
I believe that the buy rate on the S sedan is still 0.00130. Is that the same on the coupe?

no. in march 2015, the buy rate was .0021875 or 5.25% and the dealer can markup another 2% on top of that to 7.25%. absolute usury if you ask me. dealer said someone will pay it. not me. i don't mind spending the money, but there is no value in numbers like that. and the dealer has no compunction whatsoever charging those rates. i dont know what the april or may rates will be; they change monthly as you know.

Makes the sedan look like an even better bargain as $10k off is a starting point for negotiations.

Agreed....makes me think I should finance rather than lease my European delivery S550 coupe, because I can always re-finance a purchase loan through but not a lease. Taking European delivery you have to use MB because there is no VIN assigned at the time you have to pay for it.

I love the coupe and there are only a few around where we are but I expect the same deals as the sedan moving forward.
Our dealer will give me 7% off (no matter the config) anyway to match ED and I assume better deals on the remaining Edition 1 coupe.
Financing means longer ownership, so you need to want to drive these for 5-7 years unless you want to get taken to the cleaners at trade-in time.
Personally I think the tech moves too fast and improved models are always around the corner, so having these for 2-3 years feels ideal.

Well, the coupe is a re-branded CL. Historically sales are low on these and depreciation is not kind to them.

Interesting...I'm gonna have to put pen to paper a few times to compare the lease vs. buy scenario. Taking delivery in Sindelfingen August 10th, because it's ED the rates for buying or leasing are apparently .50% higher. I have to pay for the car (lease or finance) 30 days before. If I lease through MB I cannot refinance into a new lease...but if I finance at over 3% I can re-finance with PenFed for 1.99% up to 60 months. Leasing would of course result in lower payments but I don't want to pay an exorbitant factor for the privilege.

Dealers offer 10% off for ED on 2016 models (7% ED plus 3% dealer discount), both on coupe & sedan. This may offset higher MF. Make sure you get that...
Since the coupe's MF is non-discounted anyway (unlike the sedan), the difference in MF may be negligible .
Also, the non-ED MF for the sedans is actually lower than 2.61% (.00099/2.4%). Not sure if this is the actual buy rate or still with a bit of margin.
