I know my car has it. But I can't find it anywhere in settings to make sure it's activated. Under driver assist. My only choices are ESP Pre safe brake , blind spot, attention assist, and lane keeping assist. My car has never warned me that I'm approaching too close to another vehicle or applied the brakes in normal driving. Seems to only work when Distronic cruise is actively being used. What am I missing?

You can tell if Collision Assist is active via the Assistance Menu.

In the DriveAssist menu, you have the following:
options:

Collision prevention assist doesn't show up. Everything else does? Looked at the sticker for the car. It definitely has it. I guess I'll have to take it to the dealer.

Collision Prevention Assist Plus should be a standard feature in the S Class...
When it's active, there should be no symbol on the dashboard. Only when it's not active is there a symbol on the dash.
Besides, when CPA happens, it can scare you if you're not use to it. CPA also comes on when I drive under a certain overpass in the far left lane, because it thinks that I'm going to slam into the center pillars.

Does not show up under my car's DriveAssist menu. I believe CPA+ is replaced by PRE-SAFE BRAKE in the Intelligent Drive package, as it encompasses all CPA+ features and more.

Thanks. What year is your car? Sedan or coupe? I think you are right about this. Sometimes the owners manuals are wrong and out of date.

The fact that both CPA+ and Pre-Safe Brake uses the same icon for indicating their 'off' status further leads me to believe Pre-Safe Brake replaces CPA+ on vehicles so equipped.

This is correct.

Pre-Safe Brake Assist is the enhanced version for cars with Distronic Plus (the system works for up to 125 mph while CPA+ stops at 65mph).

I remembered to check my car today, and it also doesn't have CPA+, but there is PRE-SAFE Brake in the settings menu.
