I'd rather deal with LA's traffic then Chicago's, at least you are able to avoid freeways and take side streets (impossible in Chicago).
Also, the car pool lane is a big help that we don't have here.

My last 911 was a 2009 coupe with a stick. At the time, I also still had my 2004 SL500. I found that after the newness of the 911 wore off, when I wanted to go for a fun drive, I'd take the SL. Also, I find that I am a MUCH more aggressive driver when driving a stick and I didn't like that. I sold the 911 and currently have my S550 and a 2013 SL550 and I'm pretty happy with both.
I lived in Marina del Rey for 20 years before moving to Newport Beach. The traffic in pretty much any area of L.A. Is just NUTS these days and getting worse every day. Come on down to The OC!
