What should I expect to pay for this car?

Hello once again
I have been searching for moderately equipped S550e's in my area... I came across a brand new 2016 model still for sale. What should I expect to pay for this particular model being a 2016 and not a 17. Here are the specs.

2016 Mercedes-Benz S550e Plug-In Hybrid

Exterior: designo Diamond White
Interior: Nut Brown/Black Nappa Leather (Middle Trim Level) w/Burl Walnut Wood Trim
($3,085)

Options: Driver Assistance Package, Surround View Camera, Warmth and Comfort Package, Power outboard seats with memory, Premium Package
($10,250)

Doesn't come equipped with the AMG Sport Package but I can live without it. Though the 20-inch 'Turbine' wheels are beautiful.

Total MSRP - $110,460

What kind of deal might I get with this car being 1 MY old but still brand new. Haven't contacted the dealer yet but just curious. Last 2016 S550 they have on the lot and I'm sure they wanna get rid of it.

I am think $25k off is a good start. If leased I wonder if the e-models had a less desirable MF.

conversely, you could wait til end of summer when they release the 2018's which will be refreshed inside and out with new tech as well.

Leasing or buying?

If you are buying id say 90k easy maybe 85k.leasing with 5k down 900/month including tax is like 800s if you exclude tax.or less with 3yr/30k miles. There is additional rebates for the s550e so above numbers are easy for dealerships but many California stealerships dont want to deal if thats where u are looking. I ended up going out of state and got a nonhybrid lease as none of cali stealerships were willing to deal and I couldnt find a 2016 hybrid out of state with my specifications. I also got prepaid maintenance and first class lease protection. I recommend the first class lease protection as it is worth it. Many people state it is a waste. In my opinion it is worth it. The tires alone will cover the 1695 not to mention dings scratches. Etc. people argue if you lease or buy another they waive miles/ wear and rear, if they do waive those they give you less of a deal on your new car.

Hello Preston,

I only use California dealers as I would like to see and drive the vehicle in person. If you find a good deal out of state, see if your local dealership and ask if they want to match it.

I got a great deal from out of state

I wanted a hybrid as there was a great deal on the 2016 hybrids going on nationally Ended up with a nonhybrid for the same deal. Another member on this forum referred me. Msrp on the car was 121k i got it for 96.5k and leased it. It had 39 miles so it was brand new. Cali dealers wouldnt deal. Too many suckers with money in California.

Funny, I got $50,000.00 ( yeah, fifty thousand dollars ) off a lightly used 2015 in Los Angeles ( that's in California) where all the suckers are...

Guess they just wouldn't deal with you!

I was interested in a lease not a cpo. These cars depreciate like crazy. But a used 2015 s class for 50k savings is very impressive. Congrats. Who was the salesman. Im in the bay area.I Did contact a few socal dealers but they were greedy. I only wanted 20-25k off the price for the lease on a 115-120k 2016 optioned s550.or s550e. congrats on a great deal. Enjoy the amazing car. I sure am

if all the buyers were like you then these stealerships would be forced to deal but too many people buy these cars at higher prices and feed the greed of the benz stealerships in California.

Thank you! I really am enjoying it!!!

Try Simonson in Santa Monica. Also, Beverly Hills is a super high volume stealership. My wife got $10k off her 2013 E 350 cabriolet from them ( new ).

I bought mine in Encino. I certainly had to fight with them to get the deal. I walked out a few times. The saving grace for me was I did not need a car, so if I didn't get it, no biggie. With that attitude, you can do better, I guess.

I sold my Porsche and tried an experiment to see how long I could go without a car. We live in an area where there are lots of markets, shops, etc to walk to. And, being retired, I didn't really need one. Went about 3 months without, wasn't a big deal. But my wife kept bugging me to get the Maserati Levante or the Jag F Pace. But there were no used ones and no deals to be had. And, I always wanted a super big, super quiet, super comfy vehicle after owning 3 911's in a row.

So, I found a loaded ( with the options I wanted ) CPO S Class in a color combo I could live with. Walked in the dealership with a " I don't care if I buy this car or not " and got it for $1k out the door more than I REALLY wanted to spend.

Great deals to be had if you have the time, patience and right attitude.

My vehicle:

2015 CPO
Verde Brook -Black leather/ black poplar wood
Lux package
Sports package
Drivers assistance package
Surround vision package ( or whatever it's called )
Magic Body Control
3D Burmester
Heads up display

I'm sure there is more, but these are the biggie options.

$122,700.00 sticker

Nice magic body control is so rare on s550. I hardly saw any that had it. Congrats on a great deal. What was the mileage on it? I did have the right attitude as the s would be my 3rd car. My other two cars are in great shape. I just wanted to have the s class but wasnt in a hurry as I dont need 3 cars. I did all of my negotiating online/over the phone. I told them I am willing to fly and take it off your hands if we agree on the price. They didn't seem to care. They would rather let it sit on their lot for a while to make an extra5-10k.

21k miles, but you would never know it. The first owner leased and turned it in after 22 months. Took great care of it, it truly shows.

If you are willing to wait until right before the 2018's come out, I am sure whatever inventory is left over will be heavily discounted. I am sure MBZ will throw money in to get them off dealers lots.

Kind of surprised that the dealers weren't willing to deal more with you. I bet if you flew down to LA at the end of the month and walked into Bev Hills Mercedes willing to make a deal right then, you'll get a sweet deal on a vehicle they have in stock...I see soooo many new MBZ cars with their paper plates on them, it's not even funny.

Good luck!!!
