Forget global warming: Welcome to the new Ice Age

Snow cover over North America and much of Siberia, Mongolia and China is greater than at any time since 1966.

The U.S. National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) reported that many American cities and towns suffered record cold temperatures in January and early February. According to the NCDC, the average temperature in January "was -0.3 F cooler than the 1901-2000 (20th century) average."

These freaks don't understand that the earth goes through climatological changes from time to time.

Can't wait to hear the global cooling crock.

And the data came from where? Oh, the Bush administration. You see Nello, when your intrepid leader has 0 cred and your VP has died or once again gone underground....

Global warming is a misnomer, it should be called global climate change.

It's sad that a lot of people underestimate the impact humans are having on our planet.

When you go past the religious bull**** and look at the current scientific explanation of how the earth and our solar system were created and how other planetary systems are created, it quickly becomes apparent that Earth is a statistical rarity.

At last count, there are probably more than 100 planets in our solar system, only one has the right conditions of life. Of all the star systems we've seen and all the other planets we've found, NONE of them meet the PERFECT criteria for being habitable (by us, carbon based organisms).

Granted, we've only seen approx. 0% of the universe, but that's more than enough, it's not like we'll ever be able to travel anywhere else in a reasonable amount of time.

I love the way Kookbergers just change the name or the definition of global warming when the data no longer conforme to their view of the world...

There are plenty of other links that may apply here:

Are you saying the climate change crisis is a Jewish conspiracy?

Remember the Snows of Mt. Kilamanjaro? There are no more snows on Mt. Kilimanjaro.

"The top of the mountain has seen a retreat of the most recent covering of glaciers, with the most recent ice cap volume dropping by more than 80% [6]. In 2002, a study led by Ohio State University ice core paleoclimatologist Lonnie Thompson [7] predicted that ice on top of Africa's tallest peak would be gone between 2015 and 2020."

For the NJ meet, I'm going to spit in your Philly Cheesetake this year.
I spit in Nello's last year.

The truth is that we have no proof at all of this global warming phenomenon, which is actually a very recent theory. Pretty much every scientific study in the 70's and the 80's conducted that Earth was actually experiencing "global cooling". Look at the Newsweek article below from 1975. If someone came out and said that Earth was experiencing a "global warming" 20 years ago, everyone would laugh at their face. And now all of a sudden its a scientific fact?

Huh? What are you talking about? Are you talking about global warming? Human evolution? Planatery evolution? Cosmology? Religion? Time travel? Or last weeks underwear? LOL!

You better not be a global warming nutso because I'm going to grab the first enviro-Nazi I find, dismember him and beat you over the head with his left femur.

And I attended some of those "imminent global cooling" guest lecturers in the late 70's. Had me fooled then.....but not this time.

I didn't understand it either but 95% chance it's about Ron Paul. So, none of the above.

The really cool thing about using the scientific method is that it adapts very well as you put in new information. In science, it's okay to be wrong because in itself, being wrong is still good data.

But sorry I'm going on a tangent, the point I'm trying to make is we don't know enough to make an informed conclusion, and I specifically point to the fact that Earth is only 1 sample size. I think it's only recently that we witnessed another planet with a magnetic field actually reverse its' polarity.

Since we don't know enough to solidly explain and predict what's next, I think it makes a lot more sense to "tread lightly"

Global warming caused by humans is the biggest farce ever. You guys do realize that throughout history, the earth has seen both MUCH colder and MUCH warmer periods than we see now. This is all before the industrial age and before fossil fuels were burned. Add to the fact that among all the talk about CO2 emissions, CO2 isn't even that powerfull of a greenhouse gas. Humans don't even contribute a large amount of extra CO2 into the atmosphere either.

plus. Mars is warming just like we are, I guess the pollution from our atmosphere is wafting over there too.

Hell no, Rosie "Flatulance" O'Donnell lives there. If any butthole can destroy a planet, it's her....

On a more serious note.....

I am WAITING for the latest explanation as to how "human caused global warming" is producing record snow and cold. Those IPCC bull*****ers must be working overtime trying to spin this.

A large amount of CO2 isn't required, but that isn't the point.

One of the reasons I like this whole global warming stuff is it really serves as a great coattail to jump on for trying to get more funding for NASA.
