I'm going to ride 150 miles on a BICYCLE!

LOL, for those of you who know me, you know this is NOT what my life has been building up to, but it's for a really good cause. My work sponsors a team in the Sam's Club Bike MS ride every year, and this year my boss asked me to join.

Each person on our team has a minimum goal to raise $300 for the National MS Society. I want to blow that out of the water and raise $1000. It's 30 days away, and I'm only at $120.

If you can help, please do. This is a great cause that helps people living with this disease, they really do change lives. Anything you can give helps.

I would love to donate, but my parents borrowed my $1300. I'm broke. I wish I could, though. I clean-house for a retired doctor with MS.

Thirdrem,
I understand completely, I have a really good friend who has MS. It's hard to watch sometimes. That was one of the reasons my boss was able to talk me into this! I can't believe I'm going to ride that far on a bike. I used to mountain bike, but it's been years. Now I'm riding 20+ miles per day, just trying to get back ready. Before I committed to this I'd been trying to put on 20lbs of muscle in order to do a body building competition next year. Now I've got goals that drastically conflict!

One of our brothers in MB devotion has already stepped up to the plate! I won't name names unless he says I can, but I can say that it's truly appreciated.

Bump!

A few guys over a the W203 forum have stepped up to the plate, Of course they want a picture of me holding an MBWorld sign at the finish. I'm thinking that wearing my hood ornament around my neck the whole race MIGHT get annoying ;-)

Thanks, I'm excited to be a part of this. I have a good friend who has been living with this disease for over 20 years. He was a studio musician (Guitar) when he was diagnosed with it, so you can imagine what this has done to that career.

A quick Bump for this, with mock worthy pictures added!

Here me and the Mrs. are getting ready to head out on a training ride Saturday.
Please be tasteful (or at least original) in your mocking. Remember the more you donate, the more you can mock!

No pictures were taken when we got home from the ride... and that's probably a good thing ;-)

Hey! Guess what! We just got over the $300 mark! I can't thank all of you who have donated enough! The last two to donate were Mark and Vanessa. Vanessa kicked us over the top, but Mark is the single biggest donator through my site.

Of course it stands to reason that I don't know who the two last people to donate are. If one of them is you, please let me know. I really do appreciate it, and I know it goes to a solid organization that really helps people.

If you haven't had a chance to contribute yet, please consider doing so. The National MS Society does so much good work. I have raised my goal to $500, and if/when we hit that I'll raise it to $1000 I would love to be able to make that happen!

Bump this one up! If anyone wants to donate to a great cause, well it doesn't get much better than the National MS Society! We're into the home stretch, three weeks to go!

If anyone still wants to donate, but hasn't yet, today is the day to do it! I'm having a custom cycling jersey made up with the names of all the people from MBWorld.org who have donated, and am going to wear it the last day of the ride. If you want to have your name included on it, please donate soon so I can get the design locked in! Today is the last day for the design.

I don't think it matters nor should charity work on recognition.

Oh, please - Marko's ego is more important than any silly disease.

Jersey looks good, Mike - love the placement of the names.

RedMarko, I'm working on being more "inclusive". The Jersey company is going to see if they can get that change done in time. There are also some more names to add!

That's such a great thing to do. I have a family member with ALS and the MS society takes part in that research also. So donations go a long way. Thanks for doing this!

He, he, I couldn't let you be on the top of the list (that is).
But, if you want to be, for additional $32, you know...

To boot, Rick made me VP of Marketing on the Other Side. Mucho Importante role, lol.

Anyway, Mike was for a slow start, few bumps here and there, but he is doing much better with donations now.

Mr. Scott just dropped a money bomb! I need to know his screen name
On another note, Marko, you and Mr. Scott made the biggest donations, but Tommy made the funniest one!

Hit him up for an extra zero at the end of his number. He's good for it. If you watch Fox news enough, you will see him there or...at the very least, see his products on display there.

Maybe I should just hit him up for a position as an "Exucutive Consultant" i.e. golfing partner!

I don't judge how much people donate, in my experience most very wealthy people support a LOT of different causes, and are the most generous among us. It' really easy to donate at the end of a gun-barrel (read pay taxes) it's a lot more difficult to look at the money that you can use any way you want and willingly write a check.
