You would have to be naive to think you're eating japanese kobe, Wagyu beef in America today. There was a time that it was imported but has been banned a few times since 2001/2002 during the mad cow scare.

Anyone that has had it knows there is no comparison between it and the American version.

I think in general, the misnaming of food in America is a farce. Take for instance, "cage-free chicken/eggs." You would think it would mean that the chickens are free to roam a large pasture or whatever at their own will. Nope... It isn't even an official USDA term.. It just means that the chicken wasn't kept in a [very] small cage... They still don't have access to the outside... Even free range (an official USDA term) doesn't mean what you think... It just means they have access to the outside... Doesn't mean the chicken ever even was outside... They are still grown in buildings...

If you don't' want to be fooled by US food terms, don't eat... Because trust me, 99% of the terms out there, don't mean what you think they do!
