New 2014 M3 spotted...

I know that this is not a BMW forum, however I wanted some feedback from MB guys like me. What do you think? Will it be faster on a straight than a non-tuned C63? What about after a tune?? And what about the interior???

Looks like every other BMW they make just shorter :/
BMW is such an unappealing brand to me for over the last 10 or so years

We don't even know what engine is going in there yet, let alone HP rating, so I doubt anyone can say if it's faster than a non tuned C63 or a tuned C63 or a supercharged C63 or a Black Series, or a supercharged Black Series... etc.

Looks like its getting bigger- but I cant tell 100%. Either way 440 hp seems light to me.

Wow looks exactly like as I predicted, a smaller M5. I feel like the last few new Beemers have been products of a slacking design team.

It's definitely getting bigger. I will probably own many bimmers and mercs in my lifetime, don't have any allegiances as I think theyre both great at what they do. Im going to the F10 M5, but originally wanted the F80 M3 until I saw the nasty Kidney integrated into the headlights.

The ugly Chris Bangle'd BMW's originally forced me over to Merc from BMW.

BMW is suffering from the same sht as audi. It's a good idea to buy an A4 or a 3-series because it looks exactly like a more expensive model... Mercedes on the other hand at least has different looking models. Viva mercedes.

Why do you plan to buy the new M5 vs for example the bi-turbo E63 or CLS 63?

if bmw's last FI motors (n54 & n55s) are any indication of the amount of aftermarket performance we can hope to extract from the vehicle, its gonna be a beast.

Veryyyy good point, Im sure they'll make big power out of this turboed inline 6. I feel like M has lost its way, it shouldve stayed as the M3 and M5, they're trying to steal the market from Merc who sticks an AMG badge on every car they build!

It's the way of the world that with CAFE requirements and the influence of technology M cars are headed towards delivering a more "synthetic" experience. The upcoming M3 would appear on paper to walking that fine line as the F10 has done. Count me in the "displacement still matters" camp though.

More HP, more TQ and lighter than the e90. I think it's going to be a beast. Can't wait to see what AMG brings to the table for the next C63. Still might have to jump ship!

Perhaps this would be a better, more up-to-date link to provide.

This guy's renders are usually very accurate. The right specs and looks would get me out of my V coupe in a heartbeat, though I still secretly want a C63...

Every enthusiast has a differing opinion on what a "pure" driving experience entails. Different strokes for different folks. However, the market is changing, EPA economy standards, NOx emissions standards, are all changing, and the game is to stay ahead of the curve and still offer decent fuel economy to escape gas guzzler taxes and put out passable emissions. There is no need to discuss the fact that a FI motor will produce more power with less displacement, and do so while achieving better all around efficiency than their bigger NA counterparts. Will they have the same sound, the same soul, the same throttle response and linear delivery as a proper NA 6 or 8? Prob not. But unfortunetaly, most folks shop through window stickers and magazine specs. More power? Better mpg? Less emissions? Its a win/win for them, while we sit in the background and

exactly! that's why I probably will be driving 202/203/204 AMG. or some older brabus carlsson's in future , and for daily drive some modern eco box due to gas prizes
these new cars like this m3 has a lack of soul it's not all about the numbers for me I enjoy driving an old bmw e36 m3 euro 321 hp 6spd(friends car) for daily driving a c200k is great for example. just my 23cents

Yeah, typical BMW design nowadays: 3 and 5 and 7 series all look the same, just different sizes. You see one, you have seen them all.

If AMG does go double clutch for the next C AMG car I am jumping ship.. I am tired of having an inferior transmission its the only down side to this car.

Plus I have had a few tuned 335i put up better fights than the current M even tuned ones. I can only imagine a bigger engine in the M3 that is turbo a tune with DCT is going to be hard to beat.

The new M3 will obviously be fast. I dont see them coming out with a car that will be behind the competetion since M3s typically have a longer life cycle than the rest. It will be interesting to see how much importance they placed on fuel economy vs. perfromance. Honestly the M5 and M6 are very good so I see the M3 being right there with them.

BMW's latest gen cars do indeed look like a larger or smaller version of the one in front or behind them. The hoodline is absolutely hideous. The front profile looks like theh damn thing has an overbite. The current version M3 is worlds better looking than the new F80 series 3 series. I know the M is still "under wraps" but you can bet your *** it will have the same hideous front end as the regular 3 series.
