Lakers Update!

okay so im sick of posting in the lakers haterz thread so this is the new lakers thread. An update as of July 1st 2004 K. Malone underwent surgery this week adn is in good health and his agent refutes the claims saying he will and has retired. He said that he wont be surprised at all if the mailman comes back for one more. Coach: Lakers have began talk with coach K of Duke University. Coach K recruited Kobe bryant and kobe was supposed to go to Duke before he decided to go straight to the NBA. The Pheonix suns have a verbal agreement with Steve Nash adn he is expected to sign a 5 year 64 million dollar contract. Therefor the suns will nto have enough money to aquire Kobe. The dallas mavericks will be left without Steve Nash and will therefor have to give up almost every good player they have for Shaq. I think this is all great news for the lakers. The might aquire a coach that Kobe will feel comfortable with, the suns are no longer able to aquire Kobe and Dallas is not stupid enough to get rid of dirk and the rest of their players for shaq and now the mavericks have no star point guard.

Clippers are the main threat now right? Can't see Kobe going to the Clips though. Not with that owner.

yeah i can't see Kobe going to the Clippers either. I am fairly confident Kobe will come back and play for the Lakers.

Unless the lakers can pay D fish what he is worth then he will most likely be going down to houston. The lakers have K. Rush and ary Payton so there really is no need to have another guard. Oh and Kobe sometimes brings the ball up so really no need.

Knowing the Clippers, if they aquire Kobe, they'll trade him the year after.

As far as the clippers, i highly doubt Kobe will go, there really wont be much of an incentive for him. Move to a team that plays in the same building for less and is known for losing or play for his current team with a new coach and more money and a chance that shaq wont be there. Seems like an easy decision to me.

Cuban says he won't trade Dirk for Shaq. With Cuban's payroll and some of the players the Mavs just aquired Stackhouse, Laetner, and a 7'6" giant, we will see if Shaq comes to Dallas. Shaq's wife wants to come here so we will see how that convinences him. I don't think Kobe will leave, and I don't think anybody will sign a major contract without knowing the outcome of his trial. I am waiting to see what Jersey does with either Kidd or Martin.

I'm not really that worried about them winning or losing, it's more of being able to watch a game thats entertaining and keeps your focus.

Well, we are in the Off topic forum...and ESPN has a one week series about the Lakers...so yah, pretty much everyone in the world cares about the Lakers. Put it this way...most people that arnt in america other than China and Canada are Laker fans. ....as you can see, noone else care about the other teams in the league.

Did you say that Sadaam was going to be the next Laker coach? NOw I must admit that that would be interesting. BTW....AOL is not exactly a signpost of what anyone in the world is interested in.

Dallas and Kings seem like the only 2 options at this point. Though it may would be a good trade if we get Webber or Dirk, i dont think Jerry Buss will want to give Shaq to one of thier biggest rivals. If anything, i would want to gove Shaq to the East so we can only see im in the Finals.

Sorry, but don't think so. Hell, Kobe and Shaq couldn't buy a championship before Phil came. He was the only one, so far, that could control the egos.

Rotty has a point here actually(As much as I hate to say that!). One of them has to leave. And someone please throw a brick and paytons head for re-signing.
