high fuel consumption and lagging acceleration

hi guys,

i need help on this. i recently got a W124 E220 M111. i noticed that it's fuel consumption is abnormally high, almost at the rate of 2 KM/L.

the vehicle also has lagging acceleration. the pedal is hard when pressure is applied and after it picks there is a slight over revving.

i don't know whether this is tied to the consumption or they're two isolated problems.

kindly assist

How are the rpm's? If they are high it could be tranny.

the rpm's are ok so far..the only thing i have noticed is, sometime's when the accelerator is pressed the rpm's jumps to almost 2700 even after releasing making that over revving noise

has the car ever felt like it was going to stall after coming to a stop from cruising speeds?

if the check eng. light is on also i could have something to do with the torque converter clutch solenoid, if the torque converter clutch isnt completely disengaging it can cause the car to stall coming to a stop and would also contribute to poor acceleration. I mean it could be sensor also i would definitely check for dtc's and let that lead to a more specific diagnosis

Several things can cause this. One possibility is a bad EVAP purge valve, in my case that was the cause. Luckily the CEL came on and Dealer was able to get a code and resolve it.
