Intake Silencer Removal
I have a 2004 C230 with the 1.8 liter Kompressor engine. I have thought about removing the intake silencer as it appears that it may be restricting intake air flow. I would not object to a small amount of additional supercharger noise if the trade-off were better performance.
Anyone ever try this? I think it could be accomplished with some silicone hose and aluminum tubing. Thanks guys.
Jeff.

The intake silencer is in the intake tract between the supercharger and the intercooler. Mine is located between the engine and the radiator. Removing it is part of the procedures for replacing the serpentine belt.
