Hyekakan

Please see picture. Can someone tell me what is the part called? 2 months back, my girlfriend had swearved to avoid hitting the car next to her and ended up smashing the front left tire right into the side walk. The vehicle had no body damage but the front left wheel was completley damaged.

I had the wheel replaced and installed the same tire on the wheel. I noticed the weel alligment was off on the car after the accident, but It got better after couple of days and it was just sightly off for a month. She took the car on a 30 mile trip today and when she got to the parking lot she head a snap. She turned the wheel and noticed that the font left rim wasnt turning left or right.

Can somone please look at the picture and tel me what is the part that is broke?
