does anyone else burn a lot of oil?

My 2006 r350 burns 1 quart every ~1500 miles. That seemed excessive to me however the dealer states that it allows ".85 quarts every 600 miles". That means it can burn a quart every 706 miles before the dealer does anything to fix it. Does that sound right to anyone else or does anyone else burn as much oil as mine does?

Next time you change oil, fill the oil to the "max" level on the dipstick. Then monitor so you can get a true reading of the consumption over say 5000 miles. If the last oil change tech only filled to say the "min" level, you could get the "Low oil light" prematurely.
Off the top of my head, the consumption you describe sounds a little high.

R350 supposed to have dipstick, but R500 has oil level sensor. So, check again!

To answer your question...if you lose oil, it means there is a leak somewhere. There is a TSB for leaking expansion plugs behind the valve cover. Mine leaked pretty bad, so I replaced them few weeks ago...very easy DIY. Check that...maybe you have the same problem.
