Hi-

Would someone take a minute and explain how to remove the wooden top on the pop up ashtray door/cover (the one right in front of the drink holders). I cracked mine and while i have the replacement wood panel in hand I cannot figure out how to take the broken one off???

The wood panel slides into place on top of the plastic frame. You have to pull backwards on the wood towards the rear of the car then it will disengage some clips. Then you simply lift up. It's much easier with the console taken apart, though.

Hi I just bought a 2012 c300 and after I got it home saw some scratches on the ash tray cover (wood) My wife tried cleaning it with a paper towel and it looks worse. Armor all cleans it up but when it dries it looks scratched worn in a spot. Any advice on how to fix this or replace it? I'm guessing a new one from MB would be expensive, so does anyone know of a cheaper replacement or should I try a junk yard? Thanks my first post, as a new MB owner I'm sure I'll have more questions.

It can probably be polished out. Take it to a detailer if you don't want to try yourself. Yes paper towel will scratch the hell out of it.
