2006 R 500 4matic
R 500 valve body
I had an independent replace the Valve Body on my 2006 R 500.
I was having a flutter at low speed into 3rd gear. After communicating with Mercedes Techs, we decided to replace all of the solenoids and trans fund while it was open, the MB parts guy said why don't you just replace the whole valve body for $100 more as opposed to just the solenoids.
So my Indy did the job, got the ECM flashed at a local MB dealer and all was fine.
I drove it 150 miles back home and the next morning it was in limp mode.
Long story short, I took it in to have the local MB dealer look at it and they said it was a bad valve body, needed replacement under warranty. this was supposed to take 2-3 days for the part and a day for the repair, early next week.
The dealer calls me today and says, OK its all done and its not under warranty because there is damage to the Valve body. that will be $2200.
Um, I just paid an independent 2100 last Thursday to do this same job, drove the car home and it was fine until it went into limp mode.
Seriously?
I asked the service rep to call me if there was going to be anything to this other than a warranty repair.
Not happy.
