Anyone have Error free LEDs License plate light for 2011 R350?
Has anyone been able to upgrade the license plate light to LEDs without the "Error Message" for a 2011 R350? If so, can you provide me details as to which ones you've bought. The same 'Error free' ones that I use for my 07 E63 did NOT work on the R350.
FWIW - For those looking to do the same, I recently changed my Halogens to Klight HIDs (5000K). $160 from TNR lighting AND NO Error message!
Huge improvement from the stock halogens.
Also, just ordered some LED bulbs for to upgrade my Daytime running lights. Anyone have experiences with 'Super Bright 68-SMD 360-degree shine SH23W LED Bulbs For 2010-2011 Mercedes Benz W212 E Class Daytime Running Lights (DRL)' from IJDMTOY?
Thanks

I have them on my 07 R63 (don't forsee the two cars being that different in this department). I got them from AZNOptics who can be found on this forum https://mbworld.org/forums/members/1...zn-optics.html
I communicate with him through email and he responds very quickly and has very fast shipping (based out of LA).
I also replaced all interior lights while I was at it as well.

Thanks xxGenericSNxx. The ones I tried were from IJDMTOY and they were suppose to work for the R350 (worked for my 07 E63). However, for whatever reason they didn't work for the 2011 model. Even tried 4 different pairs. Perhaps there might have been a change in the voltage specs with the 2011?
I was hoping maybe someone with the same model year (2011) already has a working set and could refer me to the same exact ones. Wifey can only take so much of me buying/testing out different ones
I'll reach out to AZNOptics. Hopefully they can point me to a working pair.

Awaiting for the LEDs to arrive from AZNOptics. Hopefully they'll work w/No error message thrown.
Also, an update on the LED driving lights. Bought them from IJDMTOY (via Ebay for $3.00 cheaper and No shipping cost). Works as described. No error message thrown. No more YELLOW Daytime Running Lights!
Here's the link to the Daytime bulbs for anyone looking to do the same: http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Mercedes-W2...6-mercedes.htm

Got the License plate light today. Sad to say they did not work.
This should NOT reflect negatively in anyway for AZNOptics as his customer service is spot on.

Sorry for the late reply and sorry to hear it didn't work on your 2011. I guess MB changed some stuff on the facelift model to render them not useable. Hopefully you'll find a working solution or else you can probably wire in some resistors so you can run the LEDs.

I am also in search for LED license plate bulb for my 2013 R350. I have a local guy that I have been using for many years. He have gave me 3 different type and so far none work.
Did anyone every figure out the right bulb for the facelift?

I put some in my '08 the other day. They were good for a short while and then they started throwing the error. I think the built-in resistors just don't pass enough current.

In the same boat as you guys ... 2006 R500... the 2 'error free' LED's I've tried were sadly NOT error free (but did work...)
And yes .. AZNOptics is excellent with his customer care Know firsthand after he met me to swap over one of those awesome city lights after US Postal literally CRUSHED the chip on one he sent me :|

My error went away. It must be teetering on the minimum amount of current draw. I think I'll just clean up the contacts a little to make a better circuit.
These are the ones I have:

Just ordered those off the link... is it the same size as the internal festoons? (door in particular)...
One of my LED's in one of the doors ALWAYS stays on, and then it kept doing that to the normal halogen festoon as well when i swapped them out.... so it's weird.

Just got 2 pairs, they do not work on my 08 R350.I had tried many LED bulbs which worked for other R owners but not on mine, huh!
Note: They worked but has error warning.

I have found that the error comes and goes. It seems to be most prevalent at colder temps, but I guess we'll see in the next week or so.

I will have to live with the error warning even the LEB bulbs work. I swapped the OEM bulbs back because I have to drop off my R this Friday at the MB dealer for State inspection, oil change, transmission and brake fluids change.

Will do. I'm just waiting for my resistors to arrive in the mail. They're a small profile, so I'm going to trying to solder them against the back of the heat sink on the LED lamp. This may have unintended consequences, but we'll see.

Can you make like the hook both leads of the resistor and attach to the contacts of the housing prior to insert the LED bulbs without solder?

I bought ones without leads, so I have some options. I may be able to insert them just above the LED or I might solder them to the LED.

Would this also work for the city lights up front?
I can not get a good understanding of what resistors to apply without generating a lot of heat:/
Currently have 50w 6ohm hooked into the city's (despite them being aznoptics I think they've just burnt ) but they are big and generating a lot of heat!
Thanks

I put these ones in for the city lights and they work great error free:
