Installing a Curtis Hitch (Need wiring advice)

Installing a hitch for a bike rack. That's the easy part. Also planning to buy a light utility trailer and will need add a harness connection.

In one thread I read about a requirement to install a GL-class SAM box to avoid errors when the trailer is attached. In another thread "rgood10921" planned to add a Modulite Hoppy harness, what ever that is? And does it eliminate the dreaded errors?

Are there any threads on this topic? Does anyone have advice? Want to DIY, and avoid a gang rape from the dealer.

I purchased this part # CUR56200 for about $75.

It was very easy to install and I tapped into a 12 volt source in the rear rather than snaking a line to the battery. Works great and I have had no problems.

Scott,

Does the kit generate any error messages?
