R Class Exhaust Problem - Help Please

Hello

I am an R Class 280 CDI owner and recently received some bad news that a small section (mid Flexi Hose) of my Exhaust has broken. Because the exhaust system has been re-designed this part is no longer available and I am facing a bill of over £1k to replace the entire exhaust system even though the rest of it is in perfect condition.

Has anyone else come across this? Is there any way round the problem? Is there a source of second hand 'middle flexi sections' where I could pick up this part?

any help greatly received.

Unhappy

Hi mwestby10, I have an R320L CDi 4Matic with a similar issue and cannot seem to find a replacement exhaust anywhere but a MB dealer. Hoping that the guys and gals on here can save me from another wallet wrenching purchase from MB!!

would be helpful if you said what year and what country!
Have you tried used? Maybe there is something in common with other diesels such as the ML. There may be more ML in the used parts lots than Rs.

Sorry, mines an 07 (56 plate), based in the UK.

She's 8 years old, so would prefer a new system so i know it'll be good for a fair few years yet :-)
