Fuse panel melted.

2006 R350
Fuse panel melted.
To make a long story short, I went to start my 2006 R350 and it would not turn over. The electric start appeared to be working but the engine would not start. I did some research and I began to think it was the crank postition sensor. I got a call from my dealer today and they advised that the fuel pump shorted out and caused the fuse panel to melt. Anyone ever heard of this?
