Picking up a 2008 R320 CDI tomorrow
Hi all,
I'm picking up a new (to me) R320 CDI tomorrow with only 82,000 kms (51,000 miles) on it. This will replace the 2005 E320 4matic wagon as the new family vehicle since the little ones are starting to get crowded in the rear facing 3rd row.
The extra space will also make more room for my electric drift trike!

goo to see, i have a 2008 r350. So far we love it. Coming up on a service so I will be looking to get as much of that done myself.
On a side note, do you feel the cdi is slow? I just looked it up and I think it said 0-60 was 11 sec? yikes. The r350 says 8.15. i know the cdi gets better mileage, but if i drive the 350 like its 11 it may balance out. I am guessing the cdi is suppose to be the better engine.
what other options do you have?

No, not slow at all. It depends on the specific variant, but I think mine is rated at 0-60 in 8.8.
It is a torque monster for sure.
Options:
panoramic roof
Harmon Kardon sound system
front and 2nd row heated seats
Parktronic
Navi
BT phone system
Power everything - including headrests
heated steering wheel
It's black with black interior. I just ordered some new black multi-spoke rims for it too.

Enjoy it!
I just sold my 2008 CDI at almost 200K km sad to see it go but figured it was time
Just got a 2011 R350 Gas with 40K km fully loaded including leather! love the car, but miss the diesels torque. but I was tired of the noise. Wish diesels did not get noisy with age.

What did you get for your 2008 R320? Did you sell it privately or traded her in at the dealer?

I asked $9K Canadian for it. sold it for $8.4k The mechanic inspection discovered a steering rack seal leak, rear diff seal leak, and other stuff... almost $4k repairs. Not to mention the rear latch problem. So had I kept it I would have had to do these anyway. It was also rusting...and the bumper clear coat was peeling. I bought out my lease for $13.5K in Dec 2014. So all in all I am happy with it. Add up all the repairs to my selling price and you get just about street value. In comparison my colleague traded in his 2010 with 150K km for an Infinity Q60 and only got $16K
Look at auto trader and you will get a good feel for price. That's what I did. I probably could have asked $11k. I had many calls. Lots of low ballers. *offer you $5K cash today" idiots. I did not answer those.

Yes. Stay away from the low ballers, not accepting their offers will result in a barrage of aggressive and insulting emails.
Diesel R-classes with under 100,000kms seem to be fetching $25,000 to $35,000 depending on how old they are.
