R350 driving with Roof Rack

Have been arguing with my buddy on this.
My buddy keeps saying that if I drive my R350 with roof rack on everyday purpose i'll have drop in mileage due to the aero dynamics. Is this true?

I drive a diesel and how much is this true?

More wind resistance equals poorer fuel economy. But I doubt it will be significant enough to notice.

It depends totally on what your daily commute is...

If it is spent on the highway at speeds over 50mph, yes it will definitely impact MPG. If your daily commute is just around town, then no...

But your buddy is correct that the roof rack impacts aerodynamics, and that does impact MPG.

The solution is to send me the roof rack and that will improve your gas/diesel mileage.
