Rust on rear Passenger door

Rust on rear Passenger door
My 2005 R350 has developed numerous areas of rust on the inside of door, where sheet metal meets the door frame. Has anyone experienced this issue?
Of course neither my dealership, nor Mercedes Corporate wants to touch this issue.
Thanks,
Greg

I'm a little confused, since the R didn't come out until 2006. There wasn't a 2005.
Also, My R350 is a 2006 and has spent it's entire life in salty North East Ohio (the heart of the rust belt) and is not rusting. We got rid of a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan with only 60k on it because it was starting to rot.
Has it been hit? How is it cared for? Do you clean it during the winter months? All these things contribute to body condition.
So, assuming yours is a 2006, it is still outside any rust warranty. I believe the standard rust through warranty is 8 years.

Wherever salt is used on the roads you can't escape rust. I would recommend getting it repaired and then committed to an annual rustproofing regime.
