Let the modding fun begin
I usually never leave my cars completely stock but I try to do mods in a way that could be mistaken as OEM. While looking for my R I really liked how the black grille found on the 09s looked on silver so that was the first thing on the list. After completing the paint I remembered I still had some yellow tint left over from when I did the fogs on my SL and had just enough for the R. Few more things headed in the mail to change the look.
Thanks to AsianR350 for posting a thread explaining how to remove the grille and paints he used, made the job much easier.

I wish they would do a little more enforcement around here, it's getting out of control. I got stuck in front of a lifted Chevy pickup tonight with HIDs in the factory reflectors and fogs. It lit up the landscape like those construction site floodlights. If it's appropriate for them to blind me like that, is it appropriate for me to shine a laser pointer in their eyes???

Marc i agree with you completely that some of this lighting is getting out of hand. I don't think yellow fogs will really bother anyone but putting HIDs in standard beam lenses is terribly dangerous for other motorists. I even see red or blue city lights/halos, and I even see green and blue rear turn signals now. Just ridiculous.

I'm all for customization, it's just when your mods are negatively impacting other motorists.
Yellow fogs pose no issue in my opinion.

Today I received the right side position light lens which had condensation build up and chrome inside was peeling away. This was already on the R when purchased but part is cheap enough to replace so nice and clear now. Also the AMG sport style pedals came in. These are knockoffs and the emergency brake pad was incorrect, I was able to make it work and should be good to go. The gas and brake pedal were perfect fits. I installed the OEM sport pedals on my R129 and like them so much I added them to the R also. 0-60 times remain unchanged.

Today i was finally able to install the Kahtec smart stop on the 3rd brake light as well as fitting an envelope style net in the cargo area. Also a big thanks to fellow member ghenry for hooking me up with the cargo shade extensions. Painted them black to match the rest of the interior and have them already installed. Next week or some time in the following week the rear entertainment screens go in.

Been adding a few things since purchase just wanted to share. Added an envelope style net to the cargo area, rear entertainment and a universal center console to put DVDs, headphones and all the other stuff from the entertainment system to keep the car tidy. Hoping to find a black factory rear center console one day but for now this will just have to do. Not terrible doesn't look completely out of place IMO.

08R320CDI, black is nice because it's easier to find parts and if you need to dye anything it's easy, but it's a ***** to keep clean, any little spec is noticeable especially on the mats, you almost have to vacuum the damn thing everyday if you want it to look perfectly clean.

My Durango has black leather, and having a black car, the tan leather that's in the R, just doesn't really sit well with me.... I'd much rather have the black interior... It just looks better.

The brake and accelerator are simple, simply slide the original pad off and slide the new ones in. The e-brake cover does not fit correctly. I had to basically cut it down so it was flat on the backside and then used contact cement to glue it to the oem pad. I contacted the seller and this is why in description it says that it does not fit a 08 R350. I have no idea if they ever changed the pad design on the R or if another eBay seller has the correct one but I'm happy with the results and with the adhesive I used I don't see it ever coming off. Here is a link to the ones I purchased.

Thanks for that, the description says it's original MB' parts, although it's so cheap. I see listings of parts coming from Germany at 3-4 times more expansive; who knows if it's better or not...

Ok heres some more results i did 2 tanks of gas an average with freeway an heavy foot round town with bypass i was seeing 19.2 to 19.6 average. I installed the delete and did alot of the same driving maybe lil more round town but for the most part i go same places ea day work, school, gym and hm so its not a big deal. But today finished my 2nd tank of gas i did alot more driving to get some results and drum roll .... 15.7 average first tank and 16.7 second tankful.
Going to get some tuning help soon i hope working on some stuff and see if this helps the drivability an such.
