What functions do rear SAM control?

I have been in the process to locate battery drain issue. I have determined that removing fuse 25 (radio), fuse 27(passenger seat, I think) and also removing relay R, will allow the total amp draw to be around .6-.7 amps. This is seems normal. Does anyone know what relay R controls? Also are these things controlled by the rear SAM? If i get a replacement SAM does it need to flashed?
Thanks.

Your engine is 272.967 ser number 30 324293;your transmission is a 722.906 ser number 00 592765-------the R relay on your rear SAM is for circuit R relay 15R and with key on it is this relay that supplies voltage to all circuit 15R users.

My suggestion is find someone with DAS(MB's diagnostic software) and have them do a quick test. That test will show a fault if present in 10\8 rear SAM---if not it will find what ever faults are present------and yes if the SAM must be replaced the indy with DAS will read the variant coding of the installed SAM----replace the SAM and then varient code the new SAM.

If you do not varient code the SAM you will have many more problems than you have now!!

Thanks for the info. I live in a rural area and cant seem to find an Indy with software and the closest dealership is a little over an hour away. I was thinking of picking up a xentry/c3 setup. Will this do what I need? What about coding the new SAM, if it is needed? Thanks.

Yes it will work fine and do all the offline SAM coding and more, however, if it were me I would get a C4 SDconnect mux. With the C4 you have more CAN scanning capibilities!!
