Takata Recall
Car and Driver's blog lists the R-class (all years) as affected by this recall. Anybody have any information yet, either from their dealer or MB?
I was at my MB dealer yesterday (picking up car after some warranty work) and they had nothing about the recall (it's possible that Canada doesn't have the same voluntary recall that MB USA is having).
I have a 2011 R-Class so chances are that the Takata bags haven't deteriorated to the point of being dangerous. But would still like to know the status. Don't like the idea of driving my family in a vehicle that can shoot shrapnel in the case of an accident, even if the risk is small.

I just got emailed from my buddy service advisor at my local MB dealer.
Hi Larry,
No Takata air bags in Mercedes. If your vehicle is involved with a recall, you will be notified my MBUSA........

Yes, R class has Takata air bags recall.
C/P:
Larry,
I just spoke to our MB field rep. Yes some R classes do have Takata. You will be notified officially if your car is involved.
Stay tuned.

Anybody heard from anyone (MBUSA, dealership, etc) regarding this recall? I entered my VIN into the link provided by AsianR350, and I do see the recall number listed (16V081). However, the status is "Recall INCOMPLETE. Remedy not yet available."
Looks like MB is still waiting for the replacement airbags to be available.
