DAS question concerning navigation information display in Instrument Cluster
I recently installed OEM Navigation in my wife's 2008 R350. Every thing works great within the OEM unit, but I don't see directions or street names within the Instrument Cluster. We've taken it to our independent shop, who said it can't be done.
So, what I'm asking for are the actual "step by step instructions" on version coding our R350 to "Nav Present" or what ever else is necessary, to get directions and street names to show up in the instrument cluster. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

We've taken it to our independent shop, who said it can't be done. BTW...This is the same shop who previously said the same when it came to version coding my 2005 C55. I had to provide them with the steps to make that happen.

AsianR350... Thanks for the reply. But, I find it hard to believe, "it can't be done". Especially when my Owner's Manual shows photos of exactly what I want displayed from the Instrument Cluster. Someone on this Mercedes Forum has to know how to make this happen... Thanks again...

I just dropped off my 08 R350 to have State inspection, oil change and transmission/brake fluids change. I asked my SA to try again to coding the NAV presents to show the turn directions on the cluster, He will let me know if the tech. is able to do it. Also, I asked him to enable the HID lights because I have aftermarket HID lights. I will let you know the outcome.

My NAV turn by turn directions in the instrument cluster works now after MB dealer flashed the instrument cluster.
For enable HID lights, it can not be done if you have aftermarket HID and have projector halogen lights.

AsianR350.....Thanks for the reply. I felt and thought all along that it could be accomplished. Now that you have proved it, I can go back to my independent shop and show them this thread. Hopefully they will be able to figure it out. Thanks again...
